But we felt the same about Hardik Pandya at Gujarat Titans, but he too made a shocking transfer to Mumbai Indians even as Gujarat treated him more than a King.

If we analyze the current Delhi Capitals team, the ones that Delhi will definitely retain if they get an opportunity without restrictions are Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Mitchell Marsh, Jake Fraser-McGurk, and Tristan Stubbs. These six players form the core of Delhi, and Delhi Capitals will go to lengths to have them in the squad. Among the players, Khaleel Ahmed and Mukesh Kumar will have the highest priority.

From the category 3 players, Delhi will want the likes of Yash Dhull, Kumar Khushagra, Lalit Yadav, Sumit Kumar, Rasikh Dar, and Vicky Ostwal. These are the players that Delhi Capitals gave good opportunities, and also nurtured. So, either as a part of uncapped players in the Auction, Delhi would want these players on the side. So, overall, considering all three priorities, we have a total of 17 players that Delhi Capitals would want for IPL 2025 as well.

New Indian and Overseas Players?

If we talk about the new players, Delhi Capitals will mostly look to fill the gaps. Among the new players that Delhi Capitals will look at are Ayush Badoni and Shahrukh Khan to support Tristan Stubbs for the finisher role, Shimron Hetmyer as a backup to Tristan Stubbs, Sikandar Raza as a backup to Mitchell Marsh, Arshad Khan as a backup to Axar Patel, Mustafizur Rahman as a backup to Anrich Nortje, and Navdeep Saini as a backup to Khaleel and Mukesh.

If Delhi Capitals is able to build this strong squad, they not only have a strong first-choice playing 11, but the presence of solid backups will make sure they don’t run out of options.
