The Delhi Capitals team will definitely open with David Warner and Prithvi Shaw to start with. While Warner is an IPL legend, and has been doing quite well in the last few years as well, the same can’t be said about Prithvi Shaw. Shaw has had a mediocre IPL 2023 where he could only manage 106 runs from 8 innings. However, there is no dearth of quality with Shaw, and with management retaining him, expect Shaw to get enough opportunities to prove himself. 

With the openers’ positions sorted, the number 3 and number 4 seem fixed to with Mitchell Marsh at 3 and Captain Rishabh Pant at 4. The Delhi Capitals team will be quite excited with the return of Rishabh Pant. Pant missed last season due to an accident, but has been training hard currently for a return in IPL 2024. With Pant back, it’s a great top 4 for Delhi Capitals. 

Coming to finishers, Harry Brook will slot in at number 5. Brook was purchased by Delhi Capitals as a replacement for Powell. So, expect DC to play Brook at 5. Other than Brook, Delhi will have wicket-keeper Kumar Khushagra for the finishing duties. Kumar will mostly have to play in the starting 11 given Pant’s non-readiness for wicket-keeping.
