If we look at the current squad of both teams, and especially England, it looks way better than what it was in 2022. The team has batters that have improved their game since 2022, and the bowling lineup looks more lethal with the likes of Mark Wood, Jofra Archer, etc. But how does the England team stack up when compared to the squad with India? England: Ben Duckett, Harry Brook & Will Jacks

Starting with the pure batters, India have an upper hand here with a rating of 8.375 as compared to England’s 8.1. India have two solid batters, Suryakumar Yadav and Virat Kohli that kind of make them a stronger batting unit. But when we talk about England, their strongest batters, Harry Brook and Will Jacks aren’t that strong as compared to Kohli and SKY. Even for backups, Rohit and Jaiswal seem more lethal as compared to England’s backup, Ben Duckett.

Wicket-keepers 

India: Rishabh Pant & Sanju Samson

England: Jonny Bairstow, Jos Buttler (c) & Phil Salt

Wicket-keepers is an area where England have a complete advantage as compared to India. While the trio of Jonny Bairstow, Jos Buttler, and Phil Salt is rated 8.75, the duo of Pant and Samson is rated 7.5. Even if we don’t get too much into the details, one can clearly say that England not only have the best wicket-keepers between the two teams, but in fact, they are also the best in the world.  

All-rounders

India: Axar Patel, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja & Shivam Dube 

England: Liam Livingstone, Moeen Ali & Sam Curran 

Coming to all-rounders, India seem to have a slight edge on England with a rating of 8.05 as compared to England’s 7.94. For India, Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja are two potent all-rounders equally potent in both departments. But for England, none of the three, Livingstone, Moeen, or Sam are good enough in both departments. While Livingstone and Moeen are relatively decent in bowling, Sam is relatively decent in batting. 

Spinners

India: Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja & Yuzvendra Chahal

England: Adil Rashid, Liam Livingstone, Moeen Ali, Tom Hartley & Will Jacks

Talking about spinners, India clearly have a better spin attack with a rating of 8.5 as compared to England’s 7.88. India have two quality spinners in the side in the form of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal. But for England, there’s only Adil Rashid. When it comes to backups, India once again have better backups in Jadeja and Axar as compared to Moeen Ali, Livingstone, Tom Hartley, and Will Jacks for England. 

Pacers

India: Arshdeep Singh, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj & Shivam Dube 

England: Chris Jordan, Jofra Archer, Mark Wood, Reece Topley & Sam Curran

Finally, talking about the pace attack, this is an area where England are miles ahead of India with a rating of 8.85 as compared to India’s 8.1. Barring Jasprit Bumrah, none of the other four pacers stand a chance against England pacers. For England, the duo of Archer and Wood is too hot to handle. Even for backups, Topley and Curran are far better options as compared to what India has.
