Cricgasm Auction League (CAL) didn’t start with a business plan. It started with a WhatsApp group, a shared spreadsheet, and a lot of manual work every year.
What began as a passion project for one fantasy cricket auction league eventually became a simple idea: why shouldn’t everyone have access to a proper auction experience?
Every season meant managing player lists, tracking bids, updating budgets, maintaining squads, and keeping everyone on the same page: all manually. The auction was exciting. Managing everything around it wasn’t.
CAL was created to change that: to bring the excitement and strategy of a real cricket auction into a platform that makes the entire experience simpler, more organized and accessible.

Cricket has been a part of my life since 1996. For nearly two decades, I’ve also been writing about the game, looking beyond the scorecard to understand the strategy, decisions and stories behind it.
For several years, I ran a fantasy cricket auction league the old-fashioned way: manually, over WhatsApp and spreadsheets, one player and one bid at a time.
It worked. But it was far from ideal. Tracking bids, managing budgets, updating squads, following up with participants and rebuilding spreadsheets every season was a lot of work, and somewhere along the way, the experience started feeling more like administration than an auction.
Cricgasm Auction League was born to change that.
The idea was simple: bring the energy and excitement of a real cricket auction into a platform that takes away the spreadsheet chaos behind it. What started as a solution for one group has grown into a platform built for anyone who wants to create, run or experience a cricket auction of their own.
