The Right to Match card will be used as a Brahmastra in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. BCCI introduced the card last in 2018, but after skipping it in 2022, it was brought back again for the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. It is certainly a weapon that can go either way, as the true value of a player is very difficult to find in an Auction.
The Auction is a dynamic instrument, and works purely based on supply and demand. You may be one of the world’s best batters or bowlers, but there could be a scenario where you may not get enough value for your price in the Auction. At the same, there can be certain players who may not be that strong, but will still fetch amazing bids at the Auction.
Having said that, the RTM card will still be in fashion for the Auction, and barring KKR and RR, all other 8 Teams have players that they can buy using an RTM card. Starting with Chennai Super Kings, they have one RTM card available with them for the Auction. From the available players, there are four solid options that CSK can look to use the RTM on, and those are Devon Conway, Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell, and Tushar Deshpande. With Conway and Rachin coming in Set 3 and 4 respectively, CSK will mostly use the RTM option on one of these players for sure.
Delhi Capitals (DC) Best RTM Players List for IPL 2025

Delhi Capitals have two RTM options available with them for the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. DC shocked everyone by not retaining Pant. While Delhi Capitals does have an RTM option to use on Pant, they will mostly not do it. Money wasn’t an issue as highlighted by Pant, so it looks unlikely Delhi will use an RTM card on them. So, if not Pant, Delhi Capitals will mostly use an RTM option on Jake Fraser-McGurk and Mitchell Marsh.
Gujarat Titans (GT) Best RTM Players List for IPL 2025

Total Players Retained: 5 // Purse Left: 69 Cr // RTM Cards Left: 1
Gujarat Titans have kept an option open for one RTM card, and they have two solid options to look at. Surprisingly, both David Miller and Mohammed Shami will be available in Set 2, so depending on who comes first, and what price, Gujarat Titans will be using the RTM card on. But from a priority point of view, Gujarat Titans will mostly use the RTM option for Mohammed Shami.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) Best RTM Players List for IPL 2025

Total Players Retained: 6 // Purse Left: 51 Cr // RTM Cards Left: 0
Kolkata Knight Riders have retained all six played, so they don’t have any RTM cards available. However, from the target players’ perspective, KKR will mostly be eyeing Phil Salt, Mitchell Starc, Venkatesh Iyer, Nitish Rana, and Vaibhav Arora.
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) Best RTM Players List for IPL 2025

Lucknow Super Giants retained five players including two uncapped players, and now have only one RTM card available with them. While KL Rahul could have been an automatic choice for retention, it looks unlikely LSG will use an RTM card on him. So, among the potential options, Marcus Stoinis or Quinton de Kock remain the front runner when it comes to using an RTM card.

Mumbai Indians retained 5 players, and have a space for one RTM card. However, that RTM card can only be used on an uncapped player. From the uncapped players’ perspective, Mumbai Indians have the likes of Nehal Wadhera, Naman Dhir, and Akash Madhwal to use the RTM card on.
Punjab Kings (PBKS) Best RTM Players List for IPL 2025

Punjab Kings have the maximum number of RTM cards available, 5. Given the lack of quality from an overall player’s perspective, PBKS decided to not retain any player. However, they do have options in plenty to use the RTM card on. From the available options, Punjab Kings will be eyeing the likes of Arshdeep Singh, Sam Curran, Liam Livingstone, Jitesh Sharma, and Kagiso Rabada among the players that they can use the RTM option on.
Rajasthan Royals (RR) Best RTM Players List for IPL 2025

Total Players Retained: 6 // Purse Left: 41 Cr // RTM Cards Left: 0
Rajasthan Royals have retained all six players, hence they do not have any RTM cards left. However, from their target players’ perspective, they will be after the likes of Yuzvendra Chahal, Trent Boult, and Ravichandran Ashwin.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) Best RTM Players List for IPL 2025

Coming to Royal Challengers Bengaluru, they have three RTM cards available with them. Unfortunately, Will Jacks and Faf are coming in later sets, so only one of them will be used the RTM card on.

Talking about Sunrisers Hyderabad, they retained give players, and now have an RTM card option left only for an uncapped player. They may or may not use this option, but from the potential options, they can look at Abdul Samad or Anmolpreet Singh.
