IPL 2025 Overseas Players Complete List for Each Team

Rajasthan Royals with the least names in our official Overseas players list for all 10 teams for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. 

Overseas players are the backbone of any IPL team. A team can invest a maximum of 8 Overseas players in their squad with a potential of playing up to 4 Overseas players in the starting 11. The 18th edition of the Indian Premier League, IPL 2025 saw 10 teams retaining a total of 11 Overseas players. The number felt on the lower side, but that was primarily due to finding good value for these players in the Auction. The Auction saw the 10 franchises adding a total of 60 Overseas players in their side for IPL 2025.

Overall, 10 teams added 71 Overseas players to their side for IPL 2025. While Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru have a complete quota of 8 Overseas players, Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants have the least names at 6. Heinrich Klaasen is the most expensive Overseas player with a salary of 23 Cr. Nevertheless, here’s the complete list of Overseas players for all 10 teams for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK)

Total Overseas Players: 8 // Best Overseas Player: Matheesha Pathirana

The CSK team has 7 Overseas players in their side for IPL 2025. While the team retained Matheesha Pathirana, they bought Devon Conway via RTM in the Auction. Apart from these two, CSK were able to buy Rachin Ravindra among their existing players. Other than these three, CSK bought the likes of Sam Curran, Natham Ellis, James Overton, and Noor Ahmad.

Delhi Capitals (DC)

Total Overseas Players: 7 // Best Overseas Player: Mitchell Starc

Delhi Capitals retained only Tristan Stubbs among existing players, and then bought Jake Fraser-McGurk via RTM, and Harry Brook via Bidding among existing players. Aside from these three, Delhi Capitals added Mitchell Starc, Faf du Plessis, Dushmantha Chameera, and Donavan Ferreira.

Gujarat Titans (GT)

Total Overseas Players: 7 // Best Overseas Player: Rashid Khan

Gujarat Titans Retained Rashid Khan, and didn’t buy any other existing Overseas player in the Auction. Aside from Rashid, Gujarat Titans added 6 more Overseas players in the form of Jos Buttler, Kagiso Rabada, Gerald Coetzee, Karim Janat, Sherfane Rutherford, and Glenn Phillips.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)

Total Overseas Players: 8 // Best Overseas Player: Andre Russell

Kolkata Knight Riders have the complete quota of 8 Overseas players in their side. They retained their two core Overseas players, Andre Russell and Sunil Narine. Aside from these two, KKR added Rahmanullah Gurbaz from the list of existing players. With these three there, KKR added Quinton de Kock, Anrich Nortje, Rovman Powell, Spencer Johnson, and Moeen Ali.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)

Total Overseas Players: 6 // Best Overseas Player: Nicholas Pooran

Lucknow Super Giants retained Nicholas Pooran, and bought Sharam Joseph via RTM in the Auction. Aside from these two, LSG added David Miller, Matthew Breetzke, Mitchell Marsh, and Aiden Markram to their side. 

Mumbai Indians (MI)

Total Overseas Players: 8 // Best Overseas Player: Trent Boult

Mumbai Indians have the complete quota of 8 Overseas players in their side. Surprisingly, MI took a fresh approach, and didn’t retain or RTM any existing Overseas player – the only team to do so. MI added four strong Overseas players, Mitchell Santner, Allah Ghazanfar, Trent Boult, and Will Jacks. Aside from these four, MI focused on adding backups in the form of Bevon Jacobs, Ryan Rickelton, Reece Topley, and Lizaad Williams. 

Punjab Kings (PBKS)

Total Overseas Players: 7 // Best Overseas Player: Glenn Maxwell

Punjab Kings took a fresh approach when it comes to their Overseas players, and added none from the existing bunch. The team added the likes of Marcus Stoinis, Glenn Maxwell, Marco Jansen, and Lockie Ferguson among quality first-choice players, and also added Josh Inglis, Aaron Hardie, and Xavier Barlett among key backups. 

Rajasthan Royals (RR)

Total Overseas Players: 6 // Best Overseas Player: Jofra Archer

Rajasthan Royals retained Shimro Hetmyer among existing Overseas players, and aside from him, didn’t add any other Overseas player. Aside from Hetmyer, RR added Wanindu Hasarnga, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Jofra Archer, Kwena Maphaka, and Maheesh Theekshana. 

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)

Total Overseas Players: 8 // Best Overseas Player: Phil Salt

The team added Phil Salt, Josh Hazlewood, Liam Livingstone, and Nuwan Thushara among their top 4 Overseas players. For backups, RCB added Tim David, Jacob Bethell, Lungi Ngidi, and Romario Shephard. 

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)

Total Overseas Players: 7 // Best Overseas Player: Heinrich Klaasen

The Sunrisers Hyderabad team retained the most, 3 Overseas players in their side for IPL 2025. The team retained Travis Head, Heinrich Klaasen, and Pat Cummins. Aside from these three, SRH added four new Overseas players in the form of Kamindu Mendis, Brydon Carse, Adam Zampa, and Ehsan Malinga.
