IPL 2024: Ranking All 10 Teams Basis Best All-rounders
Mumbai Indians, the force team on paper as we look at the ranking of all 10 teams basis their best all-rounders for IPL 2024.
Ever since the impact player rule came on the Indian Premier League, the All-rounders, and especially the batting all-rounders have taken a beating in terms of their contribution to the team. The impact player rule gives all teams the flexibility to play an additional bowler, and that’s the reason why teams prefer not to give bowling to batting all-rounders or part timers.
Having said that, there are times when teams use these batting all-rounders as a surprise element of a wicket-taking opportunity. While batting ARs’ role may have taken a beating in IPL, this isn’t the case when it comes to pure all-rounders or bowling all-rounders. They are still one of the most valuable assets for any team.
All teams have quality all-rounders in their side for IPL 2024. But which team has the best all-rounders in IPL 2024? Well, let’s analyze the top 3 all-rounders for each team, and look at the ranking of all 10 Teams basis the best all-rounders in their side for IPL 2024. While analyzing the rankings, we shall only consider the top 3 all-rounders, and teams having more Indian all-rounders will be rated better.
Rajasthan Royals
At number 10, we start with the Rajasthan Royals, and there shouldn’t be any surprise regarding the same. There are literally zero quality all-rounders in the team, and they are highly dependent on the impact player rule. With the Impact player rule, any team can practically enter with zero all-rounders, and RR are showing how to do it with perfection.
Top Three All-rounders for RR: Ravichandran Ashwin, Rovman Powell, Riyan Parag
Gujarat Titans
Number 9 sees Gujarat Titans, who are also technically with only one proper all-rounder in the side. While Rahul Tewatia and Vijay Shankar are all-rounders on paper, they both hardly bowl in the match. You may blame the impact player rule, but that’s the trust of this side. Only Azmatullah Omerzai is the proper all-rounder, who contributes in both departments, but he also isn’t regular in the playing 11.
Top Three All-rounders for GT: Rahul Tewatia, Azmatullah Omerzai & Vijay Shankar
Sunrisers Hyderabad
Coming to number 8, we have the SRH team, who kind of ride the same boat as RR and GT. On paper, Aiden Markram, Washington Sundar, and Shahbaz Ahmed are three all-rounders for them. But Markram hardly bowls, Shahbaz rarely bowls, and Washington Sundar hardly plays. So, technically, SRH don’t utilize any of their all-rounders properly.

Punjab Kings
Number 7 is where things start to move when it comes to all-rounders. Sam Curran is one of the best all-rounders in current IPL with bowling being his core strength. Other than Sam, Liam and Harpreet Brar are decent all-rounders. While Liam is mostly utilized as a batting all-rounder, Harpreet Brar bats deep, and is utilized as a bowling all-rounder.

Lucknow Super Giants
Lucknow Super Giants are technically slightly better than PBKS when it comes to all-rounders. The team has two quality all-rounders in the form of Krunal Pandya and Marcus Stoinis, who can contribute to both departments. Then there is Ayush Badoni, who plays as a finisher, and can give valuable 1-2 overs while bowling.
Top Three All-rounders for LSG: Marcus Stoinis, Krunal Pandya & Ayush Badoni
Delhi Capitals
Delhi Capitals are a step ahead of LSG when it comes all-rounders. Technically, Axar Patel and Mitchell Marsh are better all-rounders as compared to Krunal Pandya and Marcus Stoinis respectively. Lalit Yadav may be neck-and-neck with Ayush Badoni as one is a bowling all-rounder, and the other is a batting all-rounder.

Royal Challengers Bangalore
Royal Challengers Bangalore have two solid all-rounders in their side, but honestly, none of them have shown their full potential so far. So much so that Cameron Green, their most expensive player has been dropped from the side. But there is no dearth of quality, and it is all about the team atmosphere. In addition, Mahipal Lomror is more than a decent all-rounder in the side.
Top Three All-rounders for RCB: Glenn Maxwell, Cameron Green & Mahipal Lomror
Chennai Super Kings
Coming to the top 3, we have the Chennai Super Kings with their best all-rounders being Ravindra Jadeja, Rachin Ravindra, and Daryl Mitchell. Now, Ravindra Jadeja is one of the best all-rounders in the side, and that kind of adds a lot of weightage in their all-rounder capabilities. In addition, Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell can contribute both with the bat as well as the ball – although it’s a different story that they aren’t utilized that much.

Kolkata Knight Riders
Number 2 belongs to the Kolkata Knight Riders, and there shouldn’t even be a debate on this. There are two all-rounders in the side, Sunil Narine and Andre Russell, and given their contributions so far, they are easily a part of the top 5 All-rounders in IPL 2014. While Venkatesh Iyer isn’t a big name, he certainly has good potential to play both roles.
Top Three All-rounders for KKR: Andre Russell, Sunil Narine &Venkatesh Iyer
Mumbai Indians
Finally, at numero uno, we have the Mumbai Indians team with three star all-rounders in the side, Hardik Pandya, Mohammad Nabi, and Romario Shephard. Thankfully, all three are a part of MI’s first-choice playing 11, and they contribute almost equally in both departments.
