IPL 2025 Mega Auction Best Predicted Players to get Highest Bids

KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant, the standouts in our best predicted highest salary players 11 for the IPL 2025 Mega Auction.

Mark your calendars as November 24 and 25 will witness possibly the biggest event of the season, the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. A total of 1500+ players have registered for the Auction, but the list will be pruned to roughly 700 players as teams submit their choice of players they want to target at the Auction. It is going to be an epic battle among all 10 teams as roughly 180 spots are there to be filled.

While 46 players have been retained by the 10 franchises, the Mega Auction will still witness many quality Indian and Overseas players going under the hammer. Among the quality players that will be up for grabs include KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Jos Buttler, Shreyas Iyer, Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh, etc. All these players may not be retained by their existing teams, but will be in demand at the auction.

The next question that comes naturally is what bids will these quality players get at the Auction, and which teams will be after them? Given each team has roughly 19-23 spots still up for grabs, and more than 40 Cr left in the purse kitty for each team, the battle will be intense at the Auction. So, let’s look at 11 such players across each category that will get the highest bids at the IPL 2025 Mega Auction.

IPL 2025 Auction Best Predicted Players 11 with Highest Salary

If we talk about the top order that will get the highest bids at the Auction, look no other than KL Rahul, Ishan Kishan, and Jos Buttler. All these three players should have been retained by their respective franchises, but unfortunately were not. What’s more, MI and RR can’t even use RTM cards on Ishan Kishan and Jos Buttler as they have retained 5 capped players. While LSG can use an RTM card on KL Rahul, they will most likely not.

Best Top-order under Focus

Having said that, all these three players will be in huge demand in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. While MI couldn’t retain Ishan Kishan, they will definitely try to get him at the Auction through aggressive bidding. An attacking wicket-keeper batter is an asset for any team, and barring RR, CSK, SRH, and LSG, the other six teams would target Ishan Kishan. Overall, expect Kishan to get somewhere around 18 Cr in the Auction.

KL Rahul could well be the most expensive player at the Auction. There is no doubt about KL Rahul’s ability as a player in the IPL. Irrespective of the pace at which KL Rahul scores the runs, he gets those runs is more important. Looking at his record, he has 4500+ runs at an average of 45 and a strike rate of 135. This isn’t bad by any standards. Teams like Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals, KKR, and RCB will be eying KL Rahul, and don’t be surprised if he gets around 24 Cr in the Auction.

Coming to Jos Buttler, he could well be the most expensive Overseas player at the Auction. Buttler is undoubtedly one of the most ferocious and dangerous batters in the world. An opener and a wicket-keeper with a proven track record in the IPL, Buttler will fetch big at the Auction. Barring SRH and RR, almost every other team will be eyeing Buttler, so expect nothing less than 20 Cr for him at the Auction.

Middle-order

Coming to the middle-order, we have Shreyas Iyer in focus. Iyer, who led the KKR team to their third IPL title didn’t see the retention by his existing side for IPL 2025. With six players already retained, KKR can’t even use the RTM card on Iyer. While Iyer is a decent batter in T20s seeing his track record, his leadership could add a good weightage to his Auction price. Expect Iyer to get around 16 Cr with teams like Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings eyeing him the most.

After Shreyas Iyer, we are talking about Rishabh Pant, who will also be one of the hottest properties at the Auction. Pant, who is not only a solid batter, but also brings leadership and wicket-keeping capabilities on the table. While Delhi Capitals couldn’t retain Pant, they can definitely use an RTM card on him. Other than Delhi, expect Punjab Kings, KKR, MI, and CSK to go hard after Pant with his predicted price around 21 Cr.

All-rounders

Coming to all-rounders, three all-rounders will be in focus at the IPL 2025 Mega Auction: Glenn Maxwell, Sam Curran, and Washington Sundar. Their existing franchise didn’t retain these all-rounders, but RCB and PBKS have the option to use RTM cards on Maxwell and Curran respectively. However, SRH can’t use the RTM card on Sundar. But all these three all-rounders will be in demand at the Auction.

In terms of target teams, almost every team will be eyeing them, and thus won’t mind spending big on these multi-faceted players. Given their track record in the IPL, and the capabilities they bring to the table, expect Glenn Maxwell to get around 18 Cr, Sam Curran to get around 16 Cr, and Washington Sundar to get around 16 Cr at the IPL 2025 Mega Auction

Pacers

Moving on to the bowlers, the Indian pacers will be in demand at the Auction. An Indian pacer, who represents the national side fills the demand and supply gap perfectly, and thus will be in focus at the Auction. Among the best options that are available at the Auction, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Shami, and Mohammed Siraj will be in demand the most. Their existing teams didn’t retain these three pacers, but they can still use RTM cards on them. Expect teams to spend roughly 12-14 Cr on these three pacers.
