IPL 2025 All 10 Teams Best Spin Combination Ranking

Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy standout in our ranking of the best spin attack for all 10 teams for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

Spin bowlers are crucial members of any team, and each team invests in quality spinners in the form of primary spinners and backups. But what’s the ideal number of quality spinners each team should have? Well, ideally if a team has two quality spinners in their side, they are more likely to come out on top on flat as well as spin-friendly pitches. While two is a good number, anything more than two is a welcome bonus for any team.

The IPL 2025 will see many quality spinners participating in the competition. Among Indian spinners, the tournament will witness the likes of Varun Chakravarthy, Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravi Bishnoi, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, etc. Whereas among Overseas spinners, we are likely to see the likes of Rashid Khan, Noor Ahmad, Mitchell Santner, Wanindu Hasaranga, Sunil Narine, etc.

There is no doubt that each team is filled with quality spinners. But which team has the best spin attack in the competition? Well, to compare each team basis their spin attack, we will look at the two best spinners in each team, who will mostly give them 8 overs, if selected. So, let’s look at the ranking of all 10 teams basis their best spin attack for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

IPL 2025 Best Spin Attack Ranking for All 10 Teams

#10: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) –  Krunal Pandya & Suyash Sharma

Starting with number 10, we have the spin bowling duo of RCB, Krunal Pandya and Suyash Sharma. RCB did everything right in their squad, except for investing in spin bowlers. If Suyash Sharma is your leading spinner, there is something terribly wrong in the RCB think tank. But that’s what it is for RCB. Hence, RCB might face a big challenge in spin-friendly pitches.

#9: Punjab Kings (PBKS) – Yuzvendra Chahal & Glenn Maxwell

For number 9, we have the Punjab Kings spin duo of Yuzvendra Chahal and Glenn Maxwell. Surely, PBKS got in one of the best Spin bowlers in the competition, Yuzvendra Chahal. However, the second-best spinner, Glenn Maxwell is more of a part-timer. Hence, the spin attack looks decent on paper for the Punjab Kings.

#8: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) – Ravi Bishnoi & Shahbaz Ahmed

Number 8 sees Lucknow Super Giants, who have Ravi Bishnoi and Shahbaz Ahmed as their best Spin duo. Ravi Bishnoi is surely one of the best spinners in India currently, and is also the second-choice spinner for Team India. However, his partner Shahbaz Ahmed is a decent spinner with the strength to focus on containing runs.

#7: Delhi Capitals – Kuldeep Yadav & Axar Patel

For number 7, we have Delhi Capitals, who have Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel as their best Spin duo. Kuldeep is undoubtedly one of the best spinners in the competition. Even Axar Patel is a solid spinner in T20s. But as a pair, they marginally fall short of the competition, and hence find themselves at the number 7 position.

#6: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) – Noor Ahmad & Ravindra Jadeja

For number 6, we have Chennai Super Kings with Noor Ahmad and Ravindra Jadeja as their best Spin duo. If we compare these two spinners to Delhi Capitals, Noor is marginally weaker than Kuldeep Yadav, but Ravindra Jadeja is marginally better than Axar Patel. Thus, overall, CSK spinners look slightly better than Delhi Capitals spinners.

#5: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) –  Adam Zampa & Rahul Chahar

At number 5, we have Sunrisers Hyderabad, who have Adam Zampa and Rahul Chahar as their best Spin duo. Both Zampa and Chahar are quality spinners, and if they play together, it will be a solid spin attack to deal with. However, given SRH’s restrictions on overseas players, it looks difficult to see Zampa and Chahar playing together in most of the matches.

#4: Mumbai Indians (MI) –  Allah Ghazanfar & Mitchell Santner

For number 4, we have Mumbai Indians with Allah Ghazanfar and Mitchell Santner being their leading spinners. It’s a rare sight to see Mumbai Indians investing heavily in the spin department. But they seem to have broken the tradition this year, and have invested in two quality Overseas spinners. Both Ghazanfar and Santner will make the playing 11 of MI. Given both are quality spinners, and any team will be proud to have them in their playing 11.

#3: Rajasthan Royals (RR) –  Wanindu Hasaranga & Maheesh Theekshana

For number 4, we have the Sri Lanka duo of Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana from Rajasthan Royals. It’s a rare right to see first-choice International spinners in one team, but RR made it possible by having Hasaranga and Theekshana in the side. Be it spin pitch or flat pitch, Hasaranga and Theekshana have the quality to perform well on both kinds of wickets.

#2: Gujarat Titans –  Rashid Khan & Washington Sundar

Moving on to the top 2, we have the Gujarat Titans team with Rashid Khan and Washington Sundar leading the spin attack. While Rashid is the benchmark spinner, Washington Sundar is a quality spinner himself. With both having opposite skills in terms of spinning the ball, they will complement each other quite well.

#1: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) –  Varun Chakravarthy & Sunil Narine

Finally, at numerous uno, we have the KKR spin duo, Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy. KKR have always invested in quality spinners given their pitches support spin a lot. With Chakravarthy and Narine in the side, KKR arguably have the spin attack in the competition. Both are mystery spinners, and can trouble the batters in any phase of the Match. Watch out for them, more on spin pitches as they state havoc with their bowling.

So, that’s about the ranking of all 10 teams basis their spin attack for IPL 2025.
